Hello! I'm Kendra Shea, a ceramic artist and illustrator with a passion for creating whimsical and thought-provoking pieces. With a background in fine art and a love for nature, I draw inspiration from the world around me to craft unique and captivating artworks of intention.
In my studio, you'll find me surrounded by clay, creative tools, and a collection of trinkets that spark my imagination. I'm always experimenting with new techniques and materials to push the boundaries of my creations.

"It Begins as it Ends" ArtPrize 2024 Entry

"The Cancerian"
A serene woman, majestically crowned with shells, gazes out with lips subtly parted, as if caught in a moment of quiet contemplation. The gentle turn of her cheek accentuates the graceful length of her neck, adorned with luminous pearls that whisper tales of wisdom gathered through life's trials. The pearls, symbolizing the precious lessons born from hardship, complement the crab claw, a poignant nod to the Cancerian spirit - a guardian of nurturing embrace, protective instincts, and intuitive heart
Featured in Festival of the Arts 2023. This sculpture was made using clay, shells, and upcycled materials.

(May 24th - July 9th, 2022)
The Ramsdell Regional Center for the Arts Presented this exhibition, featuring 45 artists, to reflect the beauty of the Manistee National Forest. Artists from across the state were asked to consider how the word 'enchanted' embodies their art in relation to the local landscape
My entry, "Amidst the Woods" (2022) was created using sculpted clay adorned with dried Michigan flora, feathers, mushrooms, and reclaimed jewelry. The piece is mounted in a wooden wreath wreath on canvas - A literal presentation of the natural beauty within our local landscapes.

This Interactive installation invites local Michigan Artists and Activists to collaborate, educate, and vend in the downtown Grand Rapids.
As one of the artists selected to attend, I was honored to present various artworks of my stylistic nature. This included a Native Flower series made to present to this event as educational prints and bookmarks.
